PAK to host Champions Trophy 2025, IND get 3 big tournaments till 2031

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proudly announced that Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, marking the country’s first major global cricket tournament since 1996. PCB Chairman Rameez Raja expressed his delight on Twitter, stating that hosting the event will excite millions of Pakistani fans, expatriates, and global cricket enthusiasts, showcasing the talent of top teams and players while allowing the world to experience Pakistani hospitality.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the news through a Twitter graphic outlining the roadmap for white-ball cricket tournaments in the 2024-2031 cycle. India is set to host the 2026 T20 World Cup jointly with Sri Lanka, the 2029 Champions Trophy, and the 2031 World Cup jointly with Bangladesh. The ICC’s statement highlighted the unprecedented move of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup being hosted by the USA alongside the West Indies in June 2024, a first-time occurrence.

In February 2025, Pakistan will host the Men’s Champions Trophy, representing a significant milestone as the first major global cricket tournament held in the country since 1996 when Pakistan co-hosted the Men’s Cricket World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.

Looking ahead, the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Namibia will host the Men’s Cricket World Cup in October/November 2027, a historic moment for the country, co-hosting with Zimbabwe and South Africa. In October 2028, Australia and New Zealand will share hosting duties for the T20 World Cup, followed by India hosting the Champions Trophy in 2029.

In 2030, England will collaborate with Ireland and Scotland to host the T20 World Cup, marking the first time since 1999 that Ireland and Scotland have jointly hosted a major global cricket event. The final event in the schedule is the Men’s Cricket World Cup, scheduled for October/November 2031 and to be played in India and Bangladesh.
